ig. switch
replaced ecu
checked several grounds
I don't have an exact wiring diagram and I think I need to know the location for all grounds. I have checked the obious ones and all fuses and still no PGM-FI light.

My AC works fine but the button will not shut the compressor off so the compressor runs all the time. A mechanic has first tried to repair it by replacing the ac/heater control unit which did not work and now wants to replace the computer..... thinking there is a ground fault problem. My question is... Aren't there diagnostic tests to check these circuits so you don't have to blindly go through a series of parts replacements before you actually make the repair. He wants to charge me for the labor to replace the control unit in the dash (2.0 hrs) which did not work and now wants to replace the computer at an additional cost of $140. How would you have gone about diagnosing this problem?

I have replaced Cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires, O2 sensor, both belts, battery, fuel pump, both fuel filters and fuel pump relay...The car sputtered and stalled out as if it's not getting fuel, what else can I do? The car showed a high temperature. I took it to the mechanic who fill it up with coolant, check everything and said he could not find anything. Two weeks later the temperature rise again, I check and the coolant container was empty, I have to refill completely and the temperature went down, I did not see any spill, so I wonder where the coolant is going, if it is not spilling, and if it could be some hose, or the radiator itself.

I was driving when all of a sudden my tacometer, odometer and all my gauges stopped working. my windows will not function, nor my signals, or hazard lights. i also am now un able to get my shifter out of park unless i press the unlock but and start in N. i have checked my fuses on the drivers side and under the hood and ECU but have had no luck. any suggestions??

1991 Honda Prelude Si - Had A Bad Trans In My 1991 Honda Prelude 2.0 Si. Went To Junk Yard And Replaced It And It Ran Great For 2 Weeks. Got Injured At Work And Was Not Able To Get Back To Car. Was Almost 2 Years In Between. This Is Not A Daily Driver. Now When I Try To Start It, It Starts Hard And If I Try To Give It Gas It Either Stalls Or The Rpm's Drop Significantly And Then When I Put It In Gear It Will Stall. I Replaced The Fuel Pump And Cleaned Out The Gas Tank Because Of Bad Fuel. Do Not Want To Start It Until I Flush The Rest Of The Fuel System. How Would I Do This And Do You Think I Should Replace The Injectors As A Matter Of Course. It's A Project Car, No Hurry To Get It On The Road. I Would Like It To Run Well. I just recently bought a 93 civic coupe and first I don't know the model of it, all I know is its a stick and it has an integra engine in it. Now other than finding out what model it is, Im having a shifter issue I have never experienced with my other Honda. The shifter itself is very loose as is the clutch pedal I need to know if there is an issue and if I can fix it, along with that when I shift in gears I can barely tell because of how loose it is. And every once in awhile when I put it in a gear its happened in 1st 2nd and 4th the car will jerk like crazy and it won't stop til I shift in any other gear so what's the issue there as well? Please help first time user here.

I have a 91 Honda Accord EX with 200k miles. My car has been sputtering when I get to speed around 55mph and I noticed it does it in town at around 25-30mph. I have had the following replaced. Fuel filter, Fuel Pump, Strainer, EGR valve. The mechanic cleaned a plate and plugs for carbon deposits. The car runs better but I'm still getting the sputtering problem. Does anyone know what this might be?

Recently took my 91 Honda accord lx to a well respected mechanic and he told me I have low compression in the 4th cylinder and that it was burning oil also. As I was driving it after the mechanic checked I also notice white smoke coming from the tail pipe. No overheating and no check engine light on. Just lack of power when it get to about 3rd gear . Please help me diagnose what needs to be fixed. Really not working with much and in need of vehicle repaired .

95 Honda Civic Civic
I have a '95 Honda Civic EX Coupe. The Climate Control bulbs died so I removed the climate control to replace the bulbs. I removed the plastic piece surrounding the air direction/circ, recirc/ac buttons to clean off the 17 years of dust. All the buttons popped out. I cleaned the plastic piece, put it back in place then put all the buttons back in. All the buttons and climate control lights work as they should when pushed, but the ac button won't stay in, so I have no way to start the AC. The green ac led still works but only when I keep my finger on it. It doesn't stay in by itself. This is very frustrating as the climate control on a '95 civic is a pain in the butt to remove and install. Is there a quick & easy fix like replacing a spring in that little ac column where the green LED light is? Or do I need to get an entirely new climate control?

Hi,
My dependable 1992 Civic CX has overheated twice on 30 degree mornings. I have a 30 mile commute and both times it has overheated the cabin heat is very low (fan on high, temp at highest setting barely warms me up). The car runs just fine but then overheated at the 25 mile mark.
When it happened the first time I refilled the radiator with about 4 cups of water, then took it for a test drive (no overheating) and put a peice of cardboard under the car to check for leaks, no leaks. Happened again on the way into work this morning but I haven't checked the radiator levels again.
In reading online it looks like my coolant mix is probably incorrect which is leading to some of the coolant freezing in the radiator. Do you think a system flush and proper coolant refill will help with this situation?

This is getting worse each day. At first, when I cranked the car it started then immediately cutoff like I had turned the key to OFF.
The second day, I had to crank it a couple of times before it would stay running.
Last night, I cranked it about a dozen times before it stayed running. When I got home, I turned off the car. Then I went to restart it and it started fine.
What should I look at checking/replacing?

So i got in a car accident and my left headlight got busted. I went online and bought the parts from ebay to replace the headlight but when i got it installed the low beam still didn't work. The very next day the left signal light went out aswell. I went out and bought new light bulbs for the signal lights, low beam and high beam and so far the only one that works is the high beam one. I got them installed all recently and for some reason the signal light for front and back only go on when I don't have the low beams turned on. When I have them turned on, it still has the indicator left on the dashboard telling me that my lights are out when I for sure replaced them. I need to know whats wrong, whether or not it has to do with the wiring or if I'm doing anything wrong. I even tried replacing the fuse and it still doesn't work, it actually made matters worse cause everything reset. Please let me know what you think asap, thank you.

The car starts and runs OK. After a short trip, the car will not restart. However, if the car sits for several hours it will start and run OK. This has only happened now that the temperatures are much cooler.

When I take off from dead stop, I shift from 1st to 2nd @ 15mph, then from 2nd to 3rd @ 30mph. At this point from the right front of the car I start hearing a clacking noise that causes a little bit of vibration as well while the car accelerates. This goes on as i shift to 4th and 5th. During acceleration, when I press the clutch pedal to shift the noise goes away and comes back as soon as the car hits gear. Below 25mph the noise/vibration can't be heard/felt. I know that cv axles make noise when you turn the car, but this happens in a straight line. When I turn to the right it goes away, when I turn left it continues to make the clack sound.

Hello, I have a 1990 civic si. New alternator, starter, distributer, wires, plugs, main fuel relay, starter relay, battery. When I turn the ignition on my oil light and battery light do not come on. until I press the clutch in and the they come on very dim. I'm also getting no crank at all. I know the computer works for sure because I tested with my friends car. Last thing is cel stays on and doesn't shut off as a result my fuel pump doesn't shut off. I'm sure it's a wiring issue but where do I begin, thanks for the assist if possible.

Have 1994 honda prelude fan blows when on cool or heat but only blows the temp of air that is outside. Heater does not heat nor a/c cool. a/c charged and checked for leaks. Standard transmission.

1998 Honda 1998 Civic
Coolant is overflowing and filling the reservior and overfowing is also. I have flushed cooling system, replaced the thermostat, replaced the radiator cap. It is obvious the water pump is working and thermostat is opening properly. The fan comes on, but i'm a little suspect because it seems that the coolant is too hot before it comes on and starts to enter the overflow reservior. The tempature gage never gets above half way and the engine doesn't seem hot. I also most suspect the cap does not seat well, and holds not pressure. Buy the way the car has 260,000 miles on it and I do not know any history on it. I sure runs good, but this coolant overfow is starting to baffel me. Do I need a new radiator?

1989 Accord HIGH engine idle. 2500-3000 idle speeds. I bought the car the choke was wired open. this caused car to sputter along and I would have to double foot the gas and brake. I found the wired open choke and now the engine revs WAY to high. Can you help please?

I have a 2000 Honda Civic sedan. The radio quit first, then the wipers, then the lights, then everything. This happened before and it was loose battery cables. The cables are fine. Someone mentioned alternator. I parked in a safe place, was rescued and returned the next morning and it turned right over. Any ideas?

1997 Honda Civic Cx Hatchback
could an overcharging alternator cause a short? i put a new engine and trans in my 97 civic cx. worked fine for 3 to 4 months. one day the battery was dead after driving a few miles. i replaced the battery and alternator. the next day came out and the battery was dead again. did some tests and inspected most of the wiring and everything was good. let the car sit for a month while i was out of town. i used it for about 2 days and the new alternator started to overcharge. 17 volts at idle, caused the battery to swell and boil. popped the caps off. replaced both again. it is charging at 13 to 14 volts now, but when i turn on the head lights the battery light flickers on and off. after about a week of use i came out to start it in the morning and the battery was dead again. have gone over all the wiring again and nothing is grounding out, blowing fuses, or shorting out. could it be the computer. i am stumped. could really use some help i need my gas saver fixed. thanks.

92 Honda Prelude Si
Hi i have a 92 prelude si that has the 2.3 h23 motor. i just got the motor back in after replacing all the seals, CVs, struts, ball joints, motor mounts and a new clutch. my problem is at a stop as the clutch starts to engage there is a shutter but once fully engaged it goes away and dosent happen anymore not with changing gears or anything. was curious if my flywheel was warped cause that i did not replace or if the clutch just needs broke in??

2005 Honda Civic Civic
2005 Honda Civic Ex, 137K. Problem started with fluctuation in the temp. gauge. Very limited at first, in an hour drive it would bounce up/down three four times. Had therm. changed. problem went away for about 2 weeks. Now its back, with at twist - spikes up. If I turn heater and fan on and it returns to normal when turned off to a resting position just below mid-mark. I have no smells, no smoke and all my hoses are attached. Radiator fluid levels are the only thing that when I top off slow the problem down. The air has been bleed from radiator. Timing belt was changed at 90K, belts and hoses changed also. I understand it can be a blocked radiator or hose issue or water pump, head gaskett and warped heads. picture. What is the best way to proceed here. To have this diagnosed and fixed.

I was driving down the road with my a/c blowing hot air, that's a question for another day, when I heard a clicking noise and then my a/c quit blowing any air. I tried to turn on the heater to see if it would blow anything, and it doesn't work either.
So, to recap, neither my a/c or heater blow air at all. Where should I start?

I have had an on going problem my car would not start just a click. it has been doing this for some time I would wait a while then it would start. have taken it to 3 or 4 mechanic shops. I took my car Friday and they put a new distributor because it did stop as I was driving it 2nd time only. I thought that was the problem
then it did it again click, started right up next try. I called my repair shop he told me that it is entirely a different problem.Easy fix probably a starter or battery.
That is not so the other shops would have found that problem. What should I do next?

Will the grounding block or diode? cause some of my signal lights not to opperate? I found some little white blocks, one mounted to each fender on front. Should these be replaced or just create a good ground for them, one of the blocks is loose.

It will not go past 2000 rpm, I checked the pvc valve also disconnected the air filter. when i floor the pedal it shutters and goes below 500 rpm

rebuilt my 1992 honda civic lx d15b7 worked fine for months then the relay was one less click than usual and the fuel pump woundnt power intermitently then all of a sudden nuthin one click from my main relay and not the other that clicks on supplies power to the pump for 3 or so seconds then shuts off the pump works only when terminal 5 and 7 are bridged to test the pump check engine light never goes out tried a second ecu no progress please help

I want to buy a honda prelude 92 si but there is a problem with it starting, It turns over but no fuel is going though but if you put fuel in the motor it starts strat away there is also a clicking noise coming from the back ,once its started it runs fine its just starting ive been told it could be a fuel sensor under the car any help would be great thanks :)
