Getting no fuel to motor. Fuel pump is getting no power when key is turned on or when cranking engine. Fuel pump relay replaced, no help. Fuel pump will power up when testing the fuel pump relay wires(with test light), still won't start. All fuses inside & under hood test OK. Timing belt OK. Getting fire to plugs(also new plugs and wires). A friend gave me a used igniter to replace inside distributer, didn't help. The air is cold and kicks out fine, but there is almost a loss and restoration of power a couple times a minute (though the speed and RPM doesnt change when this happens). So I asked my wife to sit in the car with it and the AC running as I looked under the hood, I noticed the AC compressor is surging on and off and causing this. Again, this started happening when it got really hot and we were using it more often, but it was also within a week or so of her father recharging the AC system (he has one of those store bought canisters). On my car (96 Ford Contour V6), my AC worked fine last year, but this year it hasnt worked at all. I checked the refrigerant charge and it looks to be pretty good, but I noticed that my AC compressor is constantly stopping and starting. So while her car kicks out the air just fine, I am most concerned about those surges that are constantly happening, aside from being annoying, are they of any concern? Any diagnosis on what the problem could/would be? Possible fixes, etc? As a side note, my car kicks out air that is slightly cool, but not nearly what it should for being a charged system, and it has the same compressor issues (I just dont feel the surges as much when driving). Last year, I had to replace the radiator, and ever since, the temp. gauge goes to just a little over 1/3 of the way up (does not fluctuate in either direction) when the engine is warm. With the original radiator, the temp. reading was barely over 1/4. I've been driving around with this hotter temp. for over a year, but I'm worried. Where should the needle be pointing on a normally functioning Civic EX?1995 Civic Engine Won't StartI have a 95 Honda Civic EX 1.6L, 144K mi. I was getting the car ready to sell. I pressure washed the engine while running. 1hr later the car died on the road. I removed & cleaned the distributor cap and she started right up. The next day I changed the cap & rotor on the distributor and drove her over 150mi, no propblems. The following day she died on the road again (both times it was as I was coming to a stop). I have not been able to get her started again. I have cleaned the cap & rotor and tried the old ones. I have verified spark with the spark plug on the valve cover. I removed the fuel rail & injectors and I do have consistent fuel from all injectors (not able to check if amount of fuel is correct, may be too much). Compression is ok. Timing belt, plugs and wires are new 1yr ago. I have visually checked the timing belt & timing, all ok. The engine won't even sputter when starting. Thanks eh. 1993 Civic Electrical & Lighting Systems OverheatingThe blower speed select switch burned up and the ground wire at the connect block was also fried. replaced the sub harness and the switch, after a few minutes of running (all seems to work fine) the swich, when held in my hand gets VERY warm again. Honda repair dept suggested to get a scotch clip for the ground wire. With that installed and grounded properly it (the new switch)heats up very quickly. The drivers door was replaced with one from a salvage yard. The problem is that there is a constant drain on the battery from somewhere. In testing, I discovered a clicking sound coming from inside the driver side door whenever I re-connect the battery. It seems that something in the door is drawing power - but the car has no power locks and no power windows. I'm worried it has something to do with the seatbelts. I have had many things done to it to aleve this problem including drilling out the radiator, checking the water pump for impeller damage, replacing the fan, and replacing the relay to kick on the fan at high temps, and checked for leaks in hoses. But none of these things have stopped the problem. I have even put the fan on a completely different circuit. In fact I have it running always after ignition because I have just hardwired it to the accessory wire coming from the steering colomn and key cylinder. Please help me with any knowledge you might have. I also have a smaller problem with where is the spot to fill the transmission with fluid. And also the autoparts store told me to fill it with 10w40 oil instead of transmission fluid. I don't know much about cars but I thought this was a little weird. My mechanic replaced the sensory unit and told me he thought it was electrical, and not to woryy about driving it. Yesterday I decided to drive it on a 30 mile trip. I took the alternator back to the store where they bench tested it and it is ok. Had Honda dealer put it on the diagnostic and they said signal stopped at he computer. I replaced the computer and the light is still on. I read about the ELD or electronic load detector. When I was putting the vehicle up on the jack stand..I didn't realize there was a wire hanging loose from one of the fog lights. The jack stand hit the wire and made a little spark. I pulled the spark plug covers off just out of curiosity and put them back on. I made sure they were on good. Next, the car was up for a week and a half. Now, I finished with the shafts, dropped the car and when I tried to crank it.. it would not crank. It's making almost the same noise it always did, minus the ka, ka varoom after 1-2 seconds like it always has. I have never had any problems with the car until now. I have a noise that is heard from the front end area when I brake. The clicking or popping noise happens at very slow speeds of 5-20mph while I come to a stop. When I back up and then go forward and apply the brake the popping or clicking noise will occur on the vehicle weight transfer. I roll down my window and the noise seems to be coming from my wheel area. It happens intermintently during driving and only when I apply the brake. I have taken the vehicle to my mechanic and they have replaced the cv joints and front axels. They have checked my suspension, front brakes, and still the noise occurs. I also took the vehicle to a certified Honda dealership service shop and they said that it was my brake pads; but it does not pop or click everytime I apply the brakes.The vehicle also has an un-even wobble while driving at very slow speeds of 5-20mph. The wobble comes from the front end. I don't know if this is related. This all started to occur after they replaced my passenger side strut about 2 years ago. The driverside strut has not been replaced, so both struts are different ages. The car makes no noise when I turn or hit bumbs. It also rides pretty smooth on the freeway. The popping or clicking noise only occurs when I apply the brakes along with the un-even front end wobble symtoms at very slow speeds. I removed and cleaned the EACV sensor and code went away, but code for MAP sensor still there after clearing the memory. I have checked for vacuum leaks, but all seems good there. Could either of these sensors being faulty cause these symtoms? Is there a way to clean/repair a MAP sensor (cost $250 :-( ??? NOTE: This did start after a heavy rain - but no water present in distrib cap. Also just replaced 1 month ago coil, ignition module, plugs, wires, radiator and air cleaner. My clock resets every time I start my car or open the doors. The interior light does not work and when it is in the on position it shorts the clock out as well. All the wires were cut and I am left with a white/blue/gray dot wire, white/green/gray dot wire, red/black wire, and black/gray dot wire which all seem to have different behaviors when probed with a multimeter. I assume the other eight wires are for the speakers. I think the white/blue or white/green may be illumination or memory, red/black power? black/gray ground? My question is should these wires be connected to anything and is there a way that I can test the open circuit? For a while, after driving a little while, check engine light would come on and then car would hardly accelerate at around 3300 - 3500 RPM. It is a steady miss and it will not accelerate anymore once at this same RPM. Before it was random, now the light will not stop coming on as soon as i start it. Mechanic read and said it is code 16, i think this has to do with fuel injection. Every time i take it in, he says the light wont come on. I am taking it back now since it wont go off, but any ideas what this is. It sure seems ECU related to me since it is so consistent every time, same RPMs, yet when the light is not on it runs great.
