| make | Honda Prelude | | model | 86 | | year | 86 | | what | I recently bought an 86 prelude 5 speed that has an 84 engine in that the P.O. had some one put in.The car ran great,I checked the air filter and it was filthy.I replaced it and the car ran a lot better.A week went by and I drove into work just fine.When I left work the engine was sputtering and eventually died at a light.I pushed it into the gas station and could smell gas from the engine compartment.Gas was leaking out of the bottom of the air cleaner box.After limping it home and trying to trouble shoot it I had the air box off and started the motor and gas was pouring from the air vent solenoid housing where the two vent tubes connect.I pulled the lines off the vent solenoid housing and left the lines attached to the vent tubes and started it up again.Gas is pouring right out of the vent tubes.I noticed today that gas is dripping out of the bottom of the charcoal canister.Me and a friend tried no avail to fix it today.Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is currently my only transportation for me and my 3 year old son.Thanks in advance |
